Group drives
Group drives
Management Drives is a special tool by virtue of its ability to ‘total’ individual drives to arrive at the group drives (at a team, departmental or organization level). The test results yield a reliable insight into individual drives, tensions and energy balances, communications between individuals and disruptions within groups, combinations of management and staff, and the culture of the overall organization. The software also offers a number of opportunities to examine how full justice can be done to the individual drives of the members of a team. A series of matrices reveal which individuals contribute to specific group drives, and the extent to which individuals’ values diverge from the average value of the team. This information can be used to determine the gaps in the groups’ perceptions, and which individuals would be particularly beneficial to filling in those gaps. These matrices can also be used to gain an insight into the unity of the group.
A. Team results
Individual results can readily be merged to obtain group results. These results show how decisions are made within the team, and how the team (group) carries out its duties. This reveals the dominant drives, the tensions and the discussions within the group, and the customary interaction within the group. A comparison of different groups readily shows which groups collaborate with each other, and which group will be most suitable for a specific task.
B. Organization results
A similar approach can be used in combining the various group results to obtain an organization chart (see the following figure).
Virtual teams
The results from the individual measurements can be used to compile virtual teams (simulations). A computer can simulate the profile of groups comprised of different members. A similar approach can be used to carry out simulations with various team-manager combinations.
